Japanese make the best music videos, well compared to the Koreans at least. What I’m seeing from SNSD, SJ, SHINee, and DBSK, the Japanese gives this “make sense” feeling as compared to the Korean version of the MVs. They bring out the beauty of everyone, not hiding the less pretty one and bring out the obvious visuals.
Here’s a new Japanese song of DBSK
SNSD’s Hyoyeon, sadly to say, has been always victimised. In their Korean music videos, she is always hidden an her outfits are plain compared to the others and she’s always hidden at the back. There are always only a couple of lines throughout the whole song, just like Shindong but he is getting more screen time now. But in SNSD’s official Japanese remake of their music, Hyoyeon has a more dramatic look as compared to the Korean one. An example will be “Genie”. Comparing how SMtown (main Korean branch) and Avex (smtown’s Japanese branch) Hyoyeon’s appearance and screen time has a drastic different.
DBSK’s current music video Humanoid and Catch Me show a different look to them. Cool dance move and all that. But the background of their music videos seem to be so recycled. That will go along with Super Junior as well. Compared to SNSD, DBSK and SJ has nothing in terms of costumes and backgrounds. If looked at Exo’s MAMA, SJ’s sexy free and single, and DBSK’s 2 new songs, the repetitive background images or themes can be seen. First Exo, then SJ and DBSK takes their left overs. Hey, not to be anti but I’m just stating how upset I am over this matter.
BoA, Kangta, Zhang Liying and The Grace are too hidden. If I’m not into SMtown, I won’t have noticed them(other the BoA). SHINee and F(x) are neglected as well. They aren’t shown to the market as much as their seniors did. SMtown has paid obviously more attention on SNSD and Exo. After only debuting for a short time, Exo has a official fan club name. Where as F(x) who has released so many more songs and more promotions have no official fanclub name. SNSD has more dramatic clothes and music videos.
